JOHN LEE HOOKERJohn Lee Hooker's legendary 1959 debut for Chicago's independent Vee Jay label.This is "the Hook" in top form. The 12 tracks heard on this release were taken from sessions recorded from 1955 to 1959. On four tracks ("I'm In The Mood", "Boogie Chillun", "Hobo Blues" and "Crawling King Snake") Hooker worked alone, playing guitar and keeping the beat on a piece of plywood with his foot.
